Global Microsoft 365 Bootcamp Cologne – Recap

On November 26, 2020 the Global Microsoft 365 Developer Bootcamp took place. In recent years, we have traditionally held this event in the Microsoft Office in Cologne on the top floor overlooking the Rhine. This year we were able to welcome the participants virtually via Microsoft teams. Over 100 people interested in technology accepted our invitation.

With sessions about chatbots, adaptive cards, the Microsoft Graph and app development for Microsoft teams, no wishes were open for the developer heart.

For this event, we deliberately chose Microsoft Team Meetings instead of Live Events, because the individual meetings allow for interaction between the participants and with the speaker. And so the participants were able to exchange ideas in casual small talk even after the sessions. As soon as the first inhibitions have fallen and the more people turn on the camera and join the discussion, one could almost forget to participate only via a screen and not in person.

Since the topic of Swag is clearly neglected especially in virtual conferences, we were able to raffle Swag packages among the participants. The costs are covered by our association “Die Gesellschaft für Digitalisierung und digitaler Fortschritt e.V. (non-profit organization). So that we can do this also the next time we ask for donations e.g. via PayPal.

All in all, this year’s Global Microsoft 365 Developer Bootcamp Cologne was a complete success! We are already looking forward to 2021!
